1/4/2024 0 Comments Czw total havoc reviewCZW continues to run on a monthly basis in The Arena. CZW was broadcast on TWC Fight! to viewers in Great Britain and Ireland as part of the "Bloodbath" program until TWC Fight! closed in 2008. Their annual Tournament of Death show emphasizes the ultraviolent style of CZW and usually takes place in Philadelphia.Īll of their shows are taped and distributed by Pancoast Productions, Inc., who releases the shows on DVD and Pay-Per-Stream via their website. Although they are most commonly known for their 'ultraviolent' style, rarely do their shows feature more than one or two ultraviolent matches. Their homegrown roster helped establish what became a top independent promotion in later years. CZW found fame in the ECW Arena with their Cage of Death 3 show in 2001, the year ECW folded. The company filled a niche for hardcore wrestling fans that had been left open by the folding of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Ladders, tables, thumbtacks, barbed wire, light tubes and fire are common elements of "ultraviolent" wrestling matches in CZW. In 1999, John Zandig and four of his students, Ric Blade, Lobo, Nick Gage and Justice Pain began to run backyard wrestling shows in New Jersey and Delaware, showcasing a brand of hardcore wrestling dubbed as " ultraviolence". Here are some of my thoughts: Zone Wrestling ( CZW) is a independent wrestling promotion. I was lucky to call him a friend for close to 15 years. He lived w/ me for about 3 years, a time period which he would jokingly refer to as “the best of times… the worst of times” for a myriad of reasons. I was not expecting to get the horrible news that I received earlier today that Grant Berkland, aka Daniel T. I put an old Viking proverb on a card to a friend along with a present earlier this week hoping that it would cheer him up. We weren’t best friends by any means but he was someone I always looked forward to seeing This Danny Havoc news really sucks, if you scroll social media you won’t see anyone saying 1 bad word about him, truly one of the good ones that was respected around the globe by everyone. My heart hurts for his friends and loved ones. RIP Danny Havocĭanny Havoc always extended kindness to me and welcomed me into the CZW family. I feel so blessed that I had chance to get to know him a little. Grant Berkland was one of the most intelligent and creative people I have ever met. Despite being the new kid in a less-than-welcoming environment, he was always extraordinarily generous and approachable. Rest in power, Danny.ĭanny Havoc was a tremendously kind, intelligent, well-spoken, talented individual. My sincere condolences to his friends, family and fans. Reading all the wonderful stories/memories from his friends makes it clear that the we lost someone special. I shared a locker room a few times w/ Danny Havoc but didn’t know him on a personal level. My heart aches for his friends and family. Ya know how they say “the death match guys” are often the nicest and most intelligent? Danny Havoc is probably the reason they say that. Danny Havoc was a guy we all looked forward to seeing. I loved his sly sense of humor, and he had a unique perspective to add to every conversation. Passionate about his wrestling, passionate about his art, and gone far – FAR – too soon. The loss of Danny Havoc is utterly tragic. The smartest, kindest wrestler in the world. I’ll write something more just in the next few days but in the meantime I just want to express that Danny was one of my favorite people I ever met in life. I’m at a complete loss for words on the passing of Danny Havoc. I wish I could’ve returned that favor, old friend. He helped me with my depression after breaking my spine. I was his 1st opponent in Germany, he was my 1st opponent in CZW. Grant i love you and will miss you.ĭanny Havoc and I travelled the world together. We have bled together and loved this business together. Danny Havoc was my rival, my friend, my family. Words can not express how heartbroken I am. Sorry I never got that head tattoo, Danny. I’m so happy I saved all these ridiculous drawings he’d send me out of nowhere. Danny Havoc was a favorite for me as a fan turned a true friend. I want to say so much but don’t know how. This last tour in Japan in Feb meant the world to be there with him We fought in the 1st rd, that day I’d get to know Grant Berkland, he got me my job at CZW and the rest is history. RIP Grant.Ģ011 I met Danny Havoc for the 1st time in a 15 + Hr trip to Alabama for a deathmatch tournament. He went out of his way to make me feel welcome during my first few tours of America. Danny Havoc was without a doubt one of the wittiest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.
